Queen Merida was the firstborn child of King Fergus and Queen Elinor, and Queen of DunBroch since 2014.
Due to a powerful curse, the entire dimension where DunBroch was located was frozen in time from 1983 to 2011, and as such, Merida did not age or experience anything during the 28-year period.
